See and read about the setup of a plant for shredding plastic waste.
By order of a major Danish waste management company, a shredder is to be installed and mounted for the processing of primarily plastic waste. The plastic waste must be shredded into fractions that can later be recycled in the plastics industry. The large, heavy-duty conveyor belts make it possible for the waste to be loaded directly onto the belt using a wheel loader. Both the conveyor belts and the shredder are designed to handle very large amounts of waste per hour.

Watch the first test of the production.
In the video you can see the plant in operation. It is one of the first tests carried out on the shredder and conveyor belt. The blue barrels are broken down into smaller pieces of plastic that can be sorted and recycled.

This facility will be outfitted with a Zeno ZTLL 2500 x 2500 Low Noise Grinder a highly efficient shredder engineered for continuous, long-duration operation. Its primary purpose is to process a wide range of plastic waste streams, preparing them for further treatment.
Shredding the material facilitates the sorting of individual fractions, as plastic waste often contains different types of polymers and materials that must be separated and recycled independently.
A shredder of this size requires a dedicated foundation capable of supporting its 20-ton weight. Such a machine also demands substantial power input, being equipped with two 132 kW gearboxes. However, thanks to its slow-rotating shaft design, power consumption is reduced while ensuring lower mechanical stress and significantly extending the equipment’s lifespan.
A plant of this size typically takes 2 to 4 days to establish, provided that all preparations have been completed prior to the delivery of the machine and equipment. The installation is carried out by our partner, SD Service & Maskiner ApS.
